The useful price is the amount your whole party pays for the performance you can attend. A low headline price might be a child concession, a schools ticket or a seat on a different date. Start with the people coming, then compare the complete ticket bill before adding travel and food.
Family panto cost comparison for 2026/27
Checked 16 October 2026 for two adults and two children aged eight and ten, each needing a seat. These are euro ticket totals for three different productions, calculated from published rates and direct seller price views. They exclude transport, food, optional donations and ticket postage. We checked prices without reserving seats or completing a purchase. Four adjacent seats and the final checkout total still need checking when you book.
| Show and checked performance | Four-seat calculation | Total including published fees | Eligibility and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tickles and Dottie at The Civic, 2 December 2026, 6.30pm | One family-of-four ticket | €96 | Seller lists the family ticket for this performance. Venue says fees included; no adult/child split is specified for the four-person offer. |
| Snow White at Draíocht, 7 January 2027, 7.30pm | 2 × €32 adults + 2 × €30 under-18s + 4 × €1 online fees | €128 online; €124 by phone or in person | Both children qualify for the under-18 rate. Concession proof is required when collecting tickets. The separate sensory performance has different pricing. |
| From the Top mini-panto at An Táin, 10 December 2026, 6.30pm | 2 × €15 adults + 2 × €10 children + 4 × €1.50 fees | €56 if both children qualify | The event and seller do not define the child-age cutoff. Confirm eight- and ten-year-old eligibility with the box office. Four adult-rate seats would total €66. |

These are comparable party sizes, not identical experiences. One is a mini-panto on a single evening; another runs in January. A cheaper ticket in a distant town can still cost more once the journey is included. An Táin's conditional child-rate total is not a guaranteed offer for the example family.
A shorter Christmas alternative
Mission Santa at Draíocht is a live-band Christmas concert with audience participation, rather than a full panto. Its family performances are on 18 December 2026 at 4pm and 5.30pm, with guidance of ages five and above and a 50-minute running time without an interval. The official event lists €8 adults and €5 children. For our example family that is €26 before fees, or €30 online after four €1 fees under the venue's booking policy. Phone and in-person bookings avoid that online fee.
The direct seller separates these family performances from school bookings. Do not substitute the morning schools programme when planning a public family visit. The event does not publish a child-ticket upper age, so confirm that the child rate applies before paying. This shorter option belongs in a budget discussion, but its price should not be read as a discount on a two-hour panto.
Find savings that apply to your booking
At Draíocht, booking by phone or in person saves this four-person party €4 compared with online booking, under the published policy. That is a specific saving you can calculate. Allow for any extra journey needed to buy in person; a phone booking may be easier. Read the venue's refund and exchange terms before choosing a date simply because it costs less.
A family offer is worth checking against individual seats. At The Civic, four €27 full-price tickets total €108, so the advertised €96 family ticket saves €12 against that particular baseline. It is not a promise of the same saving against every concession combination. Check how the seller applies the family ticket to four seats before confirming your order.
Previews, midweek performances, restricted-view seats, student rates and group deals can be useful questions for the box office. This comparison does not establish a current discount in each of those categories. Ask for the actual performance, seat description, qualification rules and total fee before relying on one. A schools-only rate is not a public family offer, and a restricted-view bargain may be awkward for a child who cannot see over the row ahead.
Finally, choose the performance that suits the people attending. A lower-priced standard date does not replace a sensory-friendly date. Our panto guide lists announced sensory-friendly and relaxed performances, including availability cautions. Use the family listings for more shows and the kids guide to compare age guidance and running times before leaving for the official seller.
